Leberkaese. How to explain it? If you’re German, you’ll need no explanation. But if you’re not, you might not have seen this German sausage specialty before.
So what is it?
A Leberkaese is basically a baked bologna in a loaf pan that can be eaten hot or cold. It’s a very traditional German food and it is commonly served over bread and onions with a fried egg on top. If you eat it this way make sure you slice it in 1/2″ thick slices, put it in a pan first and shortly fry it from both sides until it has a nice thin crispy crust.
Now you can enjoy your Leberkaese (or correctly spelled “Leberkäse”) the proper German way.
It is also a great addition to your sandwich if you cut it in thin slices. Make sure you eat it quickly before anyone else discovers this delicious Leberkaese of yours and steals it.

By the way, this was David’s first sausage experience when he grew up in Germany and went to the next door butcher for the first time. And that Butcher’s family name was, if translated into English: Butcher Peter Bacon (German: Speck). Just as a side note.
We never use MSGs or mechanically separated meat in our products. We believe that with the right sourcing of meat and using fresh ingredients you don’t need additives to get a great flavor. Make sure you try our sausages and judge yourself.
